If you’re currently a care assistant with Florence, and want to move into a senior care assistant role, here’s what we need from you:
Are you interested in becoming a Senior Care Assistant with us? Here’s a quick guide to the requirements and steps you’ll need to take.
Qualifications
You must meet one of the following:
Option 1: NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
What to do: Provide a copy of your certificate.
Option 2: Working towards NVQ Level 3.
What to do: Provide evidence of your enrollment and progress.
Option 3: No NVQ, but have 3 years of senior care experience.
What to do: Provide two professional references confirming your experience as a Senior Carer.
Reference Requirements
If you have an NVQ (Options 1 & 2):
One professional reference confirming:
At least 6 months in a senior role.
At least 2 years in care work.
Competency in medication management.
If you don’t have an NVQ (Option 3):
Two professional references confirming:
At least 3 years as a senior in care.
Competency in medication management.
Training Requirements
Practical Medication Handling (PMH) Training:
What to do: Provide your PMH certificate as part of Florence onboarding, or complete the training if you haven’t already.
Virtual Medication Competency Assessment:
What to do: Attend an online assessment through our Academy - please note that this is coming in October 2024.
Practical Medication Competency Assessment:
What to do: Once you're compliant, we will support you to organise an 'on-shift' medications assessment with one of our trusted client partners. This will happen before you're able to access all Senior Carer shifts.
