In your Florence platform you can update your ‘Settings’ by selecting this from the three dot drop down at the top right hand corner.
From there you will be able to update your location details, essential information and the Safety Centre. This form collects the essential on-site details that a professional needs to know to work safely and effectively at your location from the moment they arrive.
Medication System Access
This is where you specify the type of medication administration record (MAR) system you use, for instance, Paper-based charts or a specific electronic system (e-MAR).
Why this is important: Letting a professional know your medication system in advance allows them to prepare for medication rounds, ensuring a safer and more efficient process for your residents.
Access to Policies and Procedures
Here, you must provide clear directions on where an agency professional can find your key operational documents (e.g., fire procedures, safeguarding policies, health and safety information).
If you select 'Physical location', be as specific as possible in the details box. For example:
"In the main office, in the blue ring binder labelled 'Agency Staff Information' on the top shelf."
Why this is important: Agency staff have a professional duty to be aware of your key policies. Providing a clear location helps them get up to speed quickly and act correctly in any situation.
Emergency Contact Information
In this section, you must provide the name and direct phone number of the most appropriate on-site contact for a professional to call during an emergency. This should be a person who can provide immediate help or make decisions, such as the manager on call, a clinical lead, or a senior staff member on duty.
Why this is important: In a critical situation, time is of the essence. A direct contact number allows the agency professional to get immediate help, ensuring the safety of your residents and staff.
