We want every shift filled through Florence to be a positive and successful experience. If you determine that a specific professional is not a good fit for your location's needs, you have the option to block them.
This guide explains what blocking does, how to do it, and the difference between a block and a formal complaint.
Understanding the Block Feature
When you block a professional, the following occurs:
They will not be able to see or apply for any of your future shift postings.
For privacy and professionalism, the individual is not notified that they have been blocked.
The action is reversible, and you can unblock them at any time.
How to Block a Professional
Locate the Professional's Profile. The easiest way to do this is by finding a past shift they worked:
Navigate to the ‘Shifts’ tab and select the ‘Completed Shifts’ list.
Find a shift the professional worked and click on their name to open their profile.
Once on their profile page, click the ‘Block’ button located at the top.
A confirmation window will appear. You will be required to select a reason for the block from the dropdown menu and provide a brief, professional comment in the text box.
Click the ‘Confirm Block’ button to finalise the action.
Your confidential feedback is not shared directly with the professional but is used by our team to identify patterns and provide constructive coaching, helping us maintain the high quality of professionals on the platform.
Block vs. Formal Complaint: Knowing Which to Use
It is crucial to distinguish between a simple block and a serious incident.
Block for issues such as: General poor fit with the team, minor punctuality problems, or performance that doesn't meet your standards but is not a safety risk.
File a Complaint for serious issues such as: A clinical error, a safeguarding concern, unprofessional conduct, suspected substance use, or failure to show up for a shift.
A formal complaint triggers a separate, in-depth investigation from our clinical governance team. To report a serious incident, please follow the guide below.
How to Unblock a Professional
If you make a mistake or decide you want to work with a professional again, you can reverse the block.
Locate the professional's profile. You can find a list of all blocked professionals by navigating to the 'Staff' tab and selecting the ‘Blocked’ tab.
Click on their profile. The button at the top will now say ‘Unblock’.
Click the ‘Unblock’ button to allow them to see and apply for your future shifts again.
