To work in the health and social care sector in England and Wales, you'll need to get an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

Before you start picking up shifts with Florence, we'll need to apply for a new or updated DBS on your behalf through our organisation.

To work with Florence, your DBS must cover the following areas:
• Point 1: Police Records of Convictions, Cautions, Reprimands and Warnings
• Point 4: DBS Adults Barred List Information
• Point 5: Other relevant information disclosed at the Chief Police Officer(s) discretion

If your DBS has been rejected, it might be because:
• Your DBS doesn’t cover the areas mentioned above.
• Your DBS is under a different name.
• You have a basic DBS or standard DBS, rather than an enhanced DBS.
• You have a child-only DBS.
• Your DBS isn't on the Update Service and we haven't processed your new DBS through Florence yet. If you have a third-party DBS that isn't on the Update Service, find out what to do here (https://help.florence.co.uk/en/articles/6158516-i-have-a-dbs-issued-in-the-last-12-months).
• You've sent us an Update Service screenshot or DBS details only. We need a photograph of the original certificate.
• Your photo is grainy or blurry or does not include all four corners of the DBS certificate.
• Your DBS has a conviction on it.

If you have a conviction on your DBS, you may still be able to work with us after we've completed some extra checks. Find out more here (https://help.florence.co.uk/en/articles/6158498-i-have-a-conviction-on-my-dbs).

If you need a new DBS find out what to do here (https://help.florence.co.uk/en/articles/6158505-i-need-a-new-dbs).
