To start picking up shifts with Florence in England and Wales, you'll need an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and valid DBS certificate.

If you have a copy of a third-party DBS certificate that's been issued within the last year but isn't on the Update Service (https://www.gov.uk/dbs-update-service), we can apply for a new Child and Adult Workforce DBS for you.

We will require two recent proof of address documents. This will enable Florence to complete the ID verification of the DBS application. Failure to provide this information may result in a delay in your DBS application.

We require the below proof of address documents;

  • A bank statement or utility bill (dated within the last 3 months)

  • A council tax bill (dated within the last 12 months)

We also require one of the below documents to verify your identity;

  • A current driving licence - Full or Provisional (Uk,Isle of Man and Channel Islands issued)

  • A current valid passport.

  • Biometrics residence permit/share code (if applicable)

If you are not able to provide any of the above documents please let us know and we will be able to advise of other acceptable documents. For more information about the ID documents for a U-check DBS please read here.

Please send the above documentation to our compliance team [email protected] with the subject of the email ‘New DBS request’ and they will support you through your DBS application.

Once we've made an application on your behalf, you'll get an email from U-check with a link to complete your part of the application, including payment.

The cost of a Child and Adult Workforce DBS is £45.20, but we'll reimburse you once your police checks have cleared and you've worked your first shift with Florence.
