Minimum Wage Increase Effective April 2025
The UK national minimum wage from April 2025 will be: £12.21 per hour for workers aged 21 and over £10.00 per hour for workers aged 18 to 20 £7.55 per hour for workers under 18 and apprentices
This is a 6.7% increase for workers aged 21 and over, and a 16.3% increase for workers aged 18 to 20. The rate for under 18s and apprentices will increase by 18%
As of April 1st, 2025, the legal minimum wage for those working in the healthcare sector has seen a significant increase. This will be reflected in your basic hourly rate.

Your basic hourly rate will be adjusted to meet or exceed the new national minimum wage, effective April 1st, 2025.
You will see this change reflected in your payslips after the implementation date.
We believe in transparency, and we are dedicated to providing clear and accurate information about your earnings and based on this new legislature employers have seen an increase in other costs such as NI contributions. As a result, some rates have been updated and in alignment with new minimum wage however this may show as a reduction in what you have previously seen advertised. Rates are set by the homes directly and not by Florence, but we work hard to ensure we get the best rates possible for our healthcare professionals.
