Clocking In and Out for Shifts

Perm and Bank staff can use the Florence app to clock in and out of their shifts directly from their phone. This ensures accurate time tracking and payroll processing.

Worker must Enable Location Services

Before clocking in, make sure Location Services are turned on. Florence uses your phone’s location to verify you’re onsite when clocking in or out.

  1. Go to Settings on your phone.

  2. Tap Search at the top and type Location Services.

  3. Open Location Services and make sure it’s turned ON.

  4. Scroll down and tap Safari Websites (or the browser/app used for Florence).

  5. Select While Using the App and enable Precise Location.

Note: Without location access, workers won’t be able to clock in or out. We have GPS enabled to ensure workers are onsite when clocking in and out for shifts.

Clocking In

  1. Open the Florence app on your phone.

  2. From your Dashboard, find your upcoming shift for the day.

  3. Tap Clock In when you arrive onsite.

  4. You’ll see a confirmation message and the status will change to In Progress.

Tip: You must be within the care home’s location range to successfully clock in.

Clocking Out

  1. When your shift ends, open the Florence app again.

  2. Tap Clock Out to record your finish time.

  3. Confirm your work hours if prompted.

  4. Your timesheet will be automatically generated for review.

Tip: Your hours might have been different to your original shift times - that's ok, just enter the new times you worked.

Reviewing Timesheets

After clocking out, your manager can review and approve your timesheet.

They’ll see:

  • Your shift details (location, date, time)

  • Your check-in and check-out times

  • Any reason for late start or early leave

Troubleshooting

If you can’t clock in:

  • Check that Location Services and Precise Location are enabled.

  • Ensure you’re connected to Wi-Fi or mobile data.

  • Make sure you’re physically at the shift location.

If problems persist, contact the Florence support team through Help → Chat with Support in the app. Your Manager can still track your shift times for you on the Florence platform.
