Right To Work

To propose an Agency worker for shifts, one of the critical documents needed is proof of Right to Work in the UK.

If the Agency Worker is a British or Irish Citizen, we require one of the following.

  • a British passport (current or expired)

  • an Irish passport or passport card (current or expired)

Don't Have a Passport?

If the Agency worker does not have a Passport or Passport Card, we will require one of the following documents and a supporting document.

  • a UK birth or adoption certificate - Short Birth Certificates can't be accepted, must be a Full Birth Certificate

  • an Irish birth or adoption certificate - Short Birth Certificates can't be accepted, must be a Full Birth Certificate

  • a certificate of registration or naturalisation as a British citizen

The Supporting Document must show the Agency worker's Name and National Insurance Number from a previous employer or a government agency.

For example, you could use a letter from HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC), the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) or the Social Security Agency in Northern Ireland.

If the Agency Worker is not a British or Irish Citizen, we require one of the following.

  • a copy of their share code results

  • An Employment Checking Service Check (ECS Check)

Please note: There may be instances where you have different Right to Work documentation on file for your Agency workers due to legislation changes. If this is the case, please reach out to a member of our team for guidance.

Please note: That NI numbers are not Proof of Right to Work on their own, and are only accepted as a supporting document.
